Top 10 Metal Gear Solid games

Metal Gear | Know Your MemeAt one point in time, the name Metal Gear was a household name in the video game industry. It began with Hideo Kojima’s humble innovations into a juggernaut giant that went above and beyond expectations from video games.  Rather than fulfilling or subverting expectations, we explore the territories of art’s accomplishment from years past; post-modern.  The whole point of post-modern is to destroy our immersion and become a reminder that you’re playing a video game, plus critiquing modern times. That’s why there are debate and analysis over Kojima’s questionable decisions. And no matter how much anti-video game moments Metal Gear explores, the franchise is still remembered for its militaristic, stealth combat, nuclear warfare awareness, and elongated cutscenes.  Kojima isn’t a developer, instead, he is a post-modern artist (and would-be filmmaker) that somehow remain stuck in the gaming industry.  No matter how badly he wanted to escape from working on another Metal Gear game, Konami (when they employed him) forced him to milk out the series, using all available resource they have available.  The issue is that Kojima was given so much freedom that it divided the audience into either despising the Metal Gear name, adoring all of Kojima’s daring decisions (blindly) or only picking a few games as their favorites.  Everything that has happened in the Metal Gear timeline (with the exception of Metal Gear Rising) are all part of Big Boss’ legacy.  Since we’ve explored everything that has happened during his reign and after it, there really is no point in expanding it. Starting in the Cold War where Big Boss discovers the Metal Gear technology and assassinate his mentor the Boss began a tornado of U.S. Government conspiracies, advanced warfare, and conflictive (and contradicting) ideologies. On the surface, all the games are seen as a militaristic espionage simulation with a heavy story.  After experiencing everything about Metal Gear, I can say that it is exaggerated commentary of the world.  This is what Metal Gear solid is most remembered for.  Now that the Metal Gear franchise is now over (thanks to Konami going above EA’s greediness & Kojima’s burn out with stealth games) it hasn’t been safer to pick ten Metal Gear games that escalated video games into high art territory.

Image result for 2006 sonic sucks2006 SUCKED! It was not only one of the worst years in gaming, it was one of the worst years ever! After a wonderful time from 2002-2005, somehow we just came to an immediate stop of boredom, nonsensical headline news, and no good releases from any media (movies, music, video games, comics, etc.). In the gaming world in 2006, we were jump shifting to 7th Generation of Consoles where they were acting like PC Gaming making it a multimedia machine, not just gaming. Sure the hardware is outstanding with motion gaming and HD graphics, but the software (games) were piss poor! Nobody today would ever say “2006! That was a great year!” It was perhaps the most static year ever. Nothing significant has happened, nothing advanced, and nothing good was even made. Fuck 2006… but here are the 10 best games that came from that year.
